Hello my Stylish Bows. The other day I picked up my copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales and despite the somewhat different stories to the well known Disney versions portrayed in the movies, I felt inspired not by the stories themselves but by how well known the stories are. I guess it opened my eyes to how powerful the written word really is. Now as an avid reader and big fan of writers such as Jane Austen, The Bronte sisters, Charles Dickens and even J.K Rowling, I am not a newbie to the power of a book and the feelings reading them can invoke in a person. So why am I only realising the true power of the written word now? After discovering the thought provoking worlds of Harry Potter, The Bennett's and even the residents of Rosewood over the past few years, how is it that I am still mind boggled and thoroughly intrigued by any new world or place a new book brings before me?
Am I only seeing this now as I have begun to blog and share my thoughts with the world, realizing how deep the imagination can really go? Or is it just that (as the old saying goes) with age comes wisdom. At fifteen, nearly sixteen, I am no way aged or wise from life experiences, but I feel like I now have a much clearer understanding of the thoughts and opinions a writer can express through a simple word, phrase or sentence. This is simply something that has been on my mind for a while and as a blogger, I feel like I am using my space in the blogosphere effectively by sharing something a little more .... what's the word ... thought provoking I guess you could say.
