Fairytale Quote Photography

Fairytale Quote

Hello again my Stylish Bows, Today's post is a little different from my normal beauty obsessed reviews. Lately I have been having fun trying out new photography ideas, and getting great inspiration from all over the internet. I fell instantly in love with quote photography and how simple it is, yet the result is simply breathtaking. So I gave it a whirl. What do you think?

The photo is a tiny bit darker than I would have liked, but I can't control the British weather. I love fairytales, from Cinderella to Dorothy and her Ruby slippers, the characters and their stories capture my head and heart. I am not ashamed to admit that I am one of those poor saps that own or have seen every remake of the classic Cinderella story (no matter how cheesy) and fall in love with the story every time, as if it is completely new to my little world. That is where I gained my inspiration for this little piece. Instead of finding just one quote, I decided to put together different parts of some my favourite fairytales, finishing with a word for word quote from my favourite movie Tangled. For this I used the stories Cinderella, The Wizard Of Oz, Snow White and Tangled.
Can you guess which parts are from which stories?
Have you tried something like this? I'd love to take a look.

Maybelline Baby Lips

Maybelline Baby Lips

Hello my Stylish Bows, the other day I picked up the much anticipated Baby Lips. Maybelline just brought this product to the UK, and are currently only selling them in Boots I have been told. I chose the Pink Punch one, at the price £2.99. Basically this product is a lip balm, each colour offering something different. Pink Punch is the tinted one in the range, and gives off a soft pink sheen.

On the packaging, this product offers 8 hours of moisture. Personally I think this is quite an overstatement. It does last for about an hour both moisture and colour, but that is a big difference from the label. Naughty Maybelline. Over looking this little stretch of truth, I am overall very pleased. At only £2.99 I wasn't expecting too much, but I really like the peach flavour and it did give my lips a pretty pink sheen. It is good for the price, but pales in comparison to my beloved Balmi lip balms.

Overall I do enjoy this product, and is great for throwing in your bag and applying on the go, however when looking for a moisturising lip product that adds colour, Revlon's Colourburst Lip Butter is by far the best.

Monthly Favourites: July

Monthly Favourites: July

Hello my Stylish Bows, and welcome to my first ever monthly favourites post. I have seen so many people do these on blogs and YouTube that I decided to give it a whirl. So it is the start of August, and the month of July has seen some great beauty products.
Sorry about the bad lighting.
So the first two things I have been loving this month are the Balmi cube lip balm's in Strawberry(left) and Raspberry(right). It took me forever to try these little babies, but I finally got the chance when I saw them for half price in Boots. They are normally £4.99 each, but I was able to pick them up for £2.99 each (Bargain!!!). They are definitely the softest, smoothest and best smelling lip balm I have used in quite a while. I just wish I had tried them sooner, but I will saver every moment with them to make up for it. Personally I prefer the strawberry one, just because I found that the raspberry one smells like a slightly muted version of the strawberry. Have you tried these flavours? What do you think?

This product I bought at the beginning of September and have mainly used on days that I only need light coverage. But as July saw a heatwave unusual for the UK, I started wearing lighter make-up and less eye products. I don't think I could have survived without this little baby. It gives a light coverage, but helps battle redness. I have found my skin looking a lot clearer after wearing the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream, and it feels as if I am wearing nothing at all (make-up wise, I promise I wear clothes. I swear). I use the shade light, and it is priced at about £7.99.

I am totally in love with Revlon's Colour burst Lip Butter's. This July I have been using the shade Peach Parfait, it's a gorgeous natural looking pink colour. This product is not only a lovely colour, but is very glittery. It has a soft shimmer which is pretty, but does not look over the top.

I have used this almost everyday, and I have a sneaky suspicion it will appear in future monthly favourites.
The packaging also makes this product great, it looks very high end and is a steal at only £7.99.

Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer is one of my all time favourite concealer's. A few months ago I ran out, and decided to try some other products for a while, but this month I have come back to this with open arms ready to continue our love affair. I am in love with this concealer, as it has everything I look for. It has a thick formula which covers all blemishes, but feels light on the skin. It claims to last for 16 hours and I can honestly say that it does last a long time, but after about 4 hours I usually need to re-apply in some areas. Over all this is a great quality product, and for only £4.19 it definitely deserves a place in my monthly favs.

Last but certainly not least, is Maybelline's Mega Plush Volum' Express mascara. I have used this every day of July, and am still using it today. This mascara gives a gorgeous fluttery look, which is my favourite lash look by far. What I love most about this product is that it gives you the ability to have a light soft lash with just a few gentle strokes, or a more voluminous, full and expressive look with a few full, thick strokes. The wand on this mascara has a moveable head which bends to catch every lash, as you apply it. Yet again Maybelline has produced an amazing product and the price tag is equally amazing ( about £7.99 I think).

Well, that's it from me today. I am sorry this post was so long but I just had so much to say. I would also like to apologise that all beauty related posts I have done on this blog so far have all been drug-store/ high-street products, I promise to start including more high end products soon. I guess I have just been a bit drug-store/ high-street obsessed lately. Who hasn't, right?
